Ace Africa Founders Anthony Okoti, Augustine Wasonga and Joanna Waddington.
Following extensive baseline research in 2002, Ace Africa was established by British born Joanna Waddington, Kenyans Augustine Wasonga and Anthony Okoti.
It was first established as a Community Based Organisation in 2003 and in 2004 registered as an NGO in Kenya, engaging four staff and 300 beneficiaries in its first year of inception. The programme focused on community capacity building across three interlinking components over a 10 – 15 year period, with the aim of those communities becoming self-sustaining over the life cycle of the project. Key areas of intervention focused on strengthening skills, systems and partnerships to address:
- Child Development
- Community Health and Wellbeing
- Community livelihoods
Today, 16 years on, Ace Africa continues to grow from strength to strength and, is now regarded as a leading and award-wining organisation. With about 80 local staff, Ace Africa Kenya engaging over 10,876 community volunteers, we have helped 1,398,436 children and their communities.
Ace Africa Kenya works in partnership with Ace Africa TZ, established in 2008, Ace Africa UK, established in 2005 and Ace Africa USA established in 2007. Ace Africa UK and USA raise funds for Ace Africa Tanzania and Ace Africa Kenya to implement projects across the three programme areas.
Ace Africa Kenya is a registered NGO in Kenya No: OP218/051/2003/0477/3060
