Agriculture
About 80% of Kenya’s population depend and derive their livelihoods from agriculture. However, production is seldom sufficient to avoid hunger and malnutrition in most communities. This is due to an array of factors, including climate change. Ace Africa provide farmers with the knowledge of how to use their land in ways which do not damage the environment so as to increases farm yields, and how to build resilience to future climate shocks. We promote practices that improve soil fertility (soil testing, Liming, Conservation Agriculture, use of compost and farm yard manure, soil and water erosion control, agroforestry). We promote crop varieties, livestock and fish species that are climate resilient and adapted to areas we work. We promote integrated management practices to prevent pests and diseases. We ensure farmers gain access to high-quality seeds, crop insurance and other farm inputs they need.
